We are a family-run swim business located in Boise, Idaho that has been serving families from all over the Treasure Valley for more than 15 years. We are passionate about educating children and adults of all ages about water safety, basic swimming skills, and stroke development in a safe, positive, encouraging, and FUN environment. We teach small classes in a warm, heated pool with excellent, motivated teachers who work very hard to ensure that children learn how to really SWIM!



Schedule

All of our sessions run Monday - Thursday unless otherwise noted.  Fridays are used to make up lessons if we have to cancel lessons earlier in the week due to bad weather.

Explanation of Levels:

Mommy and Me: For infant/children between 6 mos. and under three years old. Once children turn 3 they can attend a beginner class.  In this class we cover floating on tummy and back, blowing bubbles, holding breath and going under the water, kicking on tummy and back, safe entry & exit, water orientation skills, self-propulsion, leveling off from a vertical and log rolling.

Beginner:  Levels 1 & 2 of Red Cross Swim levels. This class is for all students 3 years old and older who cannot swim 5 yards (the width of the pool) independently on either their stomach or back without putting their feet down. Beginners will work on holding their breath under water, floating, supported swimming on tummy & back, independent swimming, and jumping in at the side. The goal for this level is to get them swimming independently across the width of the pool and taking their own breath.  There will be a range of abilities and ages within this level and we will teach to each student's ability individually.  We will also do our best to group older children together.

Intermediate: Level 3 of the Red Cross Swim levels. This class is for student who can swim the width of the pool (5 yards) on tummy or back completely independently and take their own breath consistently, but cannot yet swim the length of the pool (15 yards) without help. Level 3 swimmers will work on front & back glides, increased ability to hold breath under water, 1 minute back float, treading water in the deep end, jumping into the water in both the shallow & deep ends, introduction to diving, introduction to elementary backstroke, backstroke, front crawl, and whip kick (the kick that goes with the breast stroke), with a focus on swimming 15 yards independently.

Advanced: Levels 4- 6 of the Red Cross Swim levels. This class is for students who can comfortablyswim 1 - 2 lengths of the pool (20 yards) on both tummy and back. Advanced classes focus on development and perfection of front crawl, back crawl, breast stroke, side stroke, and butterfly. It also focuses on building endurance. Although levels 4-6 have some different objectives, they can be taught simultaneously because they build upon each other. For example, level 4 requires that a student learn the breaststroke and be able to swim 15 yards. Level 5 requires that you refine the breaststroke and be able to swim25 yards. Level 6 requires that you perfect the breaststroke and be able to swim 50 yards.
